Three persons were arrested by the cyber crime cell of the Chandigarh police, following a complaint filed by athlete Milkha Singh, for creating a fake website and a fake social profile in his name. The lawyer on behalf of Milkha Singh sought registration of a case under Sections 420, 467 and 468 of the IPC and Section 66A of the IT Act, while alleging that the accused had in a well-panned conspiracy created the website in order to use Milkha’s name to achieve financial gains and benefits for themselves. The three were released on bail the later same day.
