Personal Democracy Forum (PDF) is an annual conference organized by the Personal Democracy Media, bringing together top opinion makers, political practitioners, technologists, and journalists from across the ideological spectrum for two days to network, exchange ideas, and explore how technology and wired citizens are changing politics, governance, and civil society. The mission of the conference is to have participants educate each other on how technology is changing and what the future of democracy and advocacy looks like.
PDF ’14 will be held over 5th and 6th June 2014 in New York, USA. In light of the Snowden revelations and recent events around the world, this year’s theme will be: “Save the Internet | The Internet Saves”, where the future of open Internet will be discussed in terms of surveillance, changing culture and changing politics.
Mishi Choudhary (Executive Director) will represent SFLC.in at PDF ’14, and speak alongside Julian Assange (Editor-in-Chief, WikiLeaks) at a panel on ‘Policy Responses to the Snowden Revelations: NETmundial and the Future of Internet Governance’. Felicity Ruby, the ThoughtWorks Director of Global Internet Policy, will be moderating this panel.
