The Mumbai police have filed a number of cases under Sections 66a and 295 of the IPC in various cities in Maharasthra including Mumbai ,Nerul, Pune, Nashik, Yeola, Aurangabad, Satara and Sangli. This comes after a complaint was filed at the Mulund police station in Mumbai. The complainant is not known to us at the moment. According to news reports, there were protests all across Maharashtra over the weekend, after posts containing allegedly objectionable content were spotted. Subequently, in an attempt to contain the protests the Mumbai police sent out warnings saying “action will be taken even against those who have ‘liked’ the post.”
